SCISSOR CARE

Keep

your scissors

Busy

01

Clean & Oil Daily

Wipe your scissors clean at the end of each day and apply a drop of oil to the pivot area. This helps prevent corrosion, reduces friction, and keeps your scissors performing smoothly.

03

Store Scissors Closed

Always close your scissors before placing them on your bench or workstation. This helps protect the cutting edge from accidental damage and extends the life of your scissors.

02

Check Your Tension Regularly

Hold the thumb ring in one hand and lift the finger ring with the other. Release the top handle and watch how the blades close.

  • Blades should close about halfway.

  • If they close completely, the tension is too loose.

Tighten the pivot screw slightly and retest. Make small adjustments until the blades no longer close fully when released.

A few moments of maintenance each day will keep your scissors sharp, smooth, and performing at their best.
